Jóvenes a la U: Scholarship Access to Higher Education in Colombia
Evaluating the impact of Bogotá's scholarship program on access to and persistence in higher education.
This project evaluates the impact of Bogotá’s “Jóvenes a la U” program on access to and permanence in higher education. Combining quantitative and qualitative methods, the research has directly informed program design, including adjustments to choice restrictions and incentives to increase women’s participation in STEM fields. Findings have been disseminated to senior policymakers and higher education leaders, and have contributed to ongoing policy discussions.
A working paper documenting short-term impacts is available here, while an academic article incorporating updated persistence outcomes is forthcoming. The project is part of a longer-term research agenda tracking beneficiaries’ educational and labor market trajectories.
